5 Things Inspiring Me

Five things inspiring me this week:

1. Woman in Gold

I watched Woman in Gold this weekend, which is about the journey of an Austrian woman who fled to the US during the Nazi occupation of Vienna.  The story revolves around the retrieval of her family’s stolen Gustav Klimt collection, particularly the famed portrait of the protagonist’s aunt, Adele Bloch-Bauer, below:

2. Sports Illustrated USA Women’s Soccer Covers

Sports Illustrated made 25 covers featuring each member of the World Cup champion US women’s soccer team. I have been interning at the company that publishes SI, Time Inc.,  so I was thrilled to see these covers around the office last week; they put a smile on my face:

3. Isaiah 40:31

…but those who hope in the Lord
will renew their strength.
They will run and not grow weary,
They will walk and not be faint.

4. Minimal makeup

The beauty of the summertime is wearing as little makeup as possible.

Clare Waight Keller is the fascinating CD of Chloe, and I can vouch that her Instagram account is well worth a follow. How beautiful is her aesthetic?

5. Isabel Marant in 24 Hours

Marant is a beautiful French woman with a wonderful feeling for life and living. I stumbled across her Harper’s Bazaar piece detailing her typical ’24 hours’ – it’s a great look into how one can work hard, approach work with flair, and still recharge and relax. I love how she finishes the story with, “I calm myself by thinking that I’m lucky to have this nice husband and a nice son. I don’t have anything to complain about.”

I like people who remind themselves that they don’t have anything to complain about.
